(Santo Domingo, SoloAzar Exclusive). -During a conference held at GAT Showcase Santo Domingo at the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel & Casino in the Dominican capital, José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO at GAT Events Latam and Global Commercial Director of Mobadoo, together with Giancarlo Infante, referred to a very current topic such as artificial intelligence in virtual betting and especially in eSports.

Artificial Intelligence applied to eSports: the future of the gaming industry at GAT Showcase Santo Domingo

As part of the cycle of conferences given by experts at GAT Showcase Santo Domingo, José Aníbal Aguirre CEO at GAT Events Latam and Global Commercial Director of Mobadoo discussed the topic of artificial intelligence and technology together with Giancarlo Infante, known on social networks as Mal Asunto

To begin, they explained that “Mobadoo is an esports betting software that was born in a pandemic. We really found a very interesting gaming vertical in this situation and decided to place bets on esports, but along the way we found that these bets led us to virtual ones. The virtual bets, the famous dog and horse races that exist in the market” and added that “It is very important to note that this game, this virtual bet, is aimed at all sectors. It is created especially to attract young audiences to casinos, sports banks, lottery banks, and all types of bets that are at a physical point, at a retail point.  While it is true, it is not exactly about this, but it has to do with it. After the pandemic, we all saw how Twitch grew, how YouTube grew.”

The future of the gaming industry

At this point, the Brazilian case and its vision in the market were discussed and it was explained that “Esports are the future. In parts like, for example, Brazil. Brazil currently allocates a small percentage of betting taxes to developing esports, because it is already betting on esports. He knows that it is the future and in some way he has to start developing it. Just look at the betting market numbers up to last year. That is, we are talking about a growth of 13.1. We are talking about 80% of them being adults.”

The truth about young people and eSports

The young people who 10 years ago started playing League of Legends, Counter Strike, Valorant, today they are 25, 26 and they transcribe that passion into betting, which is the main point of this. In fact, Counter Strike is one of the events we have like Plata o Plomo. So, well, 80% of the public are adults in the productive stage".

"It is not true that eSports are for young people or children under 18 years old. It stopped being for children about 7, 10 years ago. That paradigm was broken, we are talking about betting for adults. People, the estimate is between 23 to 28 years old. That's the estimate of the average eSports player. In fact, in Europe, the main leagues had the limitation that the age of majority was 16. But as they first began to take bets, also taking sponsors for beer and tobacco, they set the minimum age of majority to compete at 18 Because they realized that there was a market that had to be exploited and it is basically the normal cycle of all sports.”

And they add that “our target audience, young technological people in the productive stage, eSports fans dedicate more than 6 hours a week to consuming content, which makes them a highly committed audience. “They are looking for adrenaline, new emotions, just like the profile of the regular bettor.”

In this sense, they highlighted that “The Street Fighter, Tekken and Valorant World Championships will have a place for those events here, there is a culture of electronic sports in the Dominican Republic. It is not true that only baseball is the sport. We took esports and we took a game called Counter Strike and created a virtual shooter. It is a virtual one-minute bet. It's like a dog race, a horse race, which you know in all the sports banks that are authorized, but this is the only virtual shooting game in the world. It is a game created by artificial intelligence. There are five bots, five robots facing five robots, which is impossible to predict.  the advantages of our retail software for physical points, easy and quick integration, we configure a physical point of sale in less than 20 minutes, more than 1,400 daily items.”

Virtual bets and speed

"Virtual bets do not have any type of interaction with the bettors in the sports banks, you simply go to a bank, you go and pay a ticket, you see the race and you know if you won or lost, you go and collect the ticket, but there is no no emotion in the action. In baseball, the most important thing about that are two things. First, the speed. If you bet on baseball on a game, you have to wait until 10 at night and be careful, because if it is on the west coast, in Los Angeles, that game easily ends at 1 in the morning and you have You have to wait until 1 am to collect your ticket. This is instant, which is what is needed today and what young people want. TikTok is fast, it is speed, fluidity, we are not here to spend 5, 7, 8 hours watching something, it is 5, 10 minutes, period, continue.
That is what the young man between 20 and 28 years old wants, fluidity, speed, what is not producing, but hey, one thing does not take away the other.”

Thus they highlighted that This is the future. A game starts, China against Honduras, Counter Strike. First, you can simply bet on who wins, which is the basics, one-minute games, remember, whoever has the most living AI members wins.”

“But there are also bets on first blood, who gets the first murder, who gets the most murders, who gets the least, how they get them, in what time. That is to say, there is a universe of bets that can be made, which is the most interesting thing, not only the speed, the fluidity, it is that you have a lot. You just want to bet that Honduras gets the first murder, perfect, you can do it, don't worry, no problem.”

“You don't care who wins, only who gets first or who gets less, you can do it. That is, every minute that passes there is a bet, 1,400 games a day, where you can bet every minute. And the operator has no risks, he earns based on profits, you pay based on profits.”

One final advice

Finally, they explained that “you don't have to make an initial investment of what you take it, you last a week, you see what works, you stay with it, period. That is to say, there is no loss, and you are going to attract a young audience, a new audience, which is what you want. Bad deal, we have 46 minutes left, place the bet.”

“Remember, it is one of the many things that the eSport company has. One step at a time. Remember that the market is growing, more countries are accepting betting on different leagues. It's a new audience. We are talking about people from 21 to 27 years old. "There appears someone who is 32 like me, but hey, I dedicate myself to this."
